Review of The Crown (Netflix series)
The Crown created by Peter Morgan and based on the early years of Queen Elizabeth -2 monarchy is one of the best series I have come across in recent time. That shouldn't be surprising given that Moragan wrote oscar winning film Queen.
Made on a reported budget of 100 million dollar it is lavish production, with massive set, gorgeous costume - jwelllery and elaborated crowd scene. It is highly addictive peek inside Buckingham palace and into lives of some the most fascinating people that have lived.
The history, acting, and level of detail is amazing. I have been emotionally invested in the characters like I have never been before. You wont not be dissapointed if you are planning to watch this. Besides, there’s so much to understand & learn about the monarchy and the longest reigning Queen.
The grandeur of the setup is beyond words. What I loved the most, probably like others, is the acting. It’s as if Matt Smith was born to do this! I haven’t seen any of Claire Foy’s work before this, but I can feel that she is the Queen! Also John Lithgow’s portrayal of Churchill is brilliant, he totally makes me want to hate him. The narration and the production is exquisite, you totally start to believe that you’re living in the ‘50s!
Overall, great show! Totally recommended!
