Why do we get goose bumps

Have you ever realise why those little hair on your hands and legs get raised? Find out the answer below why is that a  case? and find out does evolution has anything to do with it!!

Goose bumps on the skin that are caused by uncontrollable response to cold temperatures or strong emotions. The sympathetic nervous system triggers the contraction of arrector pili muscles, raising the hairs on our skin. This was much more useful to our evolutionary ancestor than it is to us today, and is a result of our built-in-flight or fight response. When threatened, our more hairy ancestors would've look much more intimidating with raised hair. And the system also more effectively retained heat to help them keep warm
